Family owned and operated since 2004, Walnut Cove Corporate Apartments have strived to make everyone feel that true southern hospitality. Traveling extensively and listening to others who also worked on the road, we knew what made us comfortable and decided to take it a step further. Rena always dreamed (and still does) of opening a Bed & Breakfast, however our lifestyle is not conducive to owning a B & B!
Alan's background: engineering, re-modeling, construction, and amazing patience, could only serve to give us the ability to take this business in any direction.
Currently working as a Realtor, ERA Golden Key Real Estate, and having a background in the medical field, sales, and fitness industry, Rena had the personable skills, salesmanship, and creativity to grow the business along with Alan's abilities.
Trusting each other with our own unique abilities we decided to live in one of our apartments for six months, re-model one and move on to the next. We did this twice, and discovered we were expecting! Space would be an issue as a growing child needed space and a baby would need a nursery. Having our own personal space was beginning to be more important to us too, so we bought the farm, well the old farm home next door--with the wrap around porch and charm that would welcome our family, friends, and tenants, thus allowing the true southern hospitality to flow through both properties.
Although we have just begun remodeling of the old house, we know one day we will have our guests over for dinner soon. This is as close we can get to a B & B, which is fine with us. Our residents love surprises, especially food, after a long day at work.
Holidays are the best! Most or our residents are away from their families during the precious holiday seasons and we really go out of our way to make this a better time for all. Christmas is so much fun, with trees in all of the Suites, lights galore, wreaths, and cookies throughout the month! If you can't make the big dinner, we will come to you, AND we have! The best gift we can receive is the gift of giving! Knowing that someone is thinking of you, although you may not know us personally, you are appreciated!
Our family has grown, with little baby Jone't being born in May 2006 and Katarina soon turning 15! Homeschooling Katarina for two years when we first moved to the area, served to be one of the best experiences for all of us. Now, she has the entrepreneurial spirit with her own cleaning service, pet service, and laundry business, that keeps her occupied and supplements her tutoring! She has her sites set on the medical field and possibly journalism, with the idea that she may combine both these fields in the future.
Little Jone't keeps people entertained when she accompanies mom on special deliveries or the daily flower run! She is funny, smart, and beautiful, of course I am prejudice, but who isn't?
